‘The Blues Machine’
This version of the Corvinho is named the SD for blues maestro Shane Diiorio
who suggested this pickup combination (tele bridge and mini-humbucker neck)
and who has been so instrumental in us advancing as guitar makers.
His advice, encouragement, enthusiasm and
playing have been inspiring.
We fitted these pickups into a semi-hollow Mountain Ash body
designed to be somewhat Tele-like but with it’s own distinctive look and feel.
Combined with a Mountain Ash neck with Maple fretboard,
this became the Corvinho SD.
On first playing it Shane immediately dubbed it ‘The Blues Machine”.
*Note*: The original SD had a Maple top to the body, the later version is all Mountain Ash.
